How did Cal’s good defense make a relatively bad UCLA QB, Prince, look like Denard Robinson?
How long must I watch Cal QBs throw 10 yards over the heads of the WRs…CONSISTENTLY!!! Argh!
I hate being critical of college players, they’re not pro and don’t get paid, they’re in college. But as a critical observer of the game I saw last night, I have to say the performance at minimum was lethargic and depressing. Per usual the QB deserves most of the blame, but the uninspired defense was shocking as well. This was the first game of the year where I thought the defense wasn’t very good. Granted, they weren’t given much help. The dysfunctional offense (again) floundered about the field but I’ve been leaning my hopes and expectations on the defensive side of the ball.
Apparently Tedford has said that there will indeed be an “evaluation” of the QB position which made me feel good, well good and bad as I’ve stated I hate criticizing collegiate players and these young guys need not get too down, life is too long. Zach Maynard has been given his shot and I think that it is indeed time to give another QB, another player who is on scholarship at Cal, a chance to show what he can do. What’s the worst that can happen? Could it be worse than what we’ve already seen this season?
